Tennessee couple killed in car accident

From the Great Smoky Mountains in the east to the plains of the Mississippi in the west, Tennessee is home to some of the most gorgeous driving scenery in the United States. Although it makes it far easier and faster to travel across the Volunteer State since frontier times, some of the dangers still remain on modern roads.

The dangers that have grown are namely those connected to high-speed collision and other injuries caused by motor vehicles. Most of these are connected to mistakes that could be avoided by detail-oriented driving and caution around dangerous driving conditions, such as tight curves and poor weather.

An elderly couple from the Monroe County town of Sweetwater were involved in a two-car accident that tragically claimed their lives. The incident occurred near their hometown as their car pulled slowly out onto Highway 322, where a 43-year-old Madisonville man was driving his Jeep.

The Jeep struck the driver's side of the elderly couple's vehicle, killing the 85-year-old driver and his 86-year-old passenger. The driver of the Jeep was injured according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, although his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

The accident is still under investigation by state and local law enforcement. No charges have yet been filed against the driver.

Victims and the survivors of victims of car accidents have the right under Tennessee law to seek damages for medical expense reimbursement and compensation for pain and suffering. A legal representative may be an advisable aide during efforts to be made whole after a damaging or injurious accident.
